Legal · Cookie Policy
Exactly what this site stores in your browser, and what it does not.
Nothing on acala.co.id needs a cookie to work. The site sets no measurement or advertising cookie until you choose “Allow analytics” in the notice at the bottom of the page. This policy names every tag we load, tells you which company receives the data, and shows you how to check our answer yourself rather than take our word for it. Last updated 8 September 2026.
The short answer
Read the site, browse the articles, look at the services: no cookie is needed and none is required for any of it. If you choose “Allow analytics”, Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement cookies are set, and our LinkedIn advertising tag is allowed to run. If you choose “Essential only”, or you ignore the notice, measurement stays switched off.
We do not sell data. We do not run a data broker’s tag. We do not use cookies to build a profile of you across other websites, and the only advertising platform involved is LinkedIn, which we use to reach mining professionals with our own training and service announcements.
What cookies are, and what else counts
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep and send back on the next request. Two other mechanisms do a similar job and we treat them the same way: local storage, which keeps a value in your browser until it is cleared, and pixels, which are tiny image or script requests that tell another company you loaded a page. Everything in this policy covers all three.
What this site loads
This is the complete list. If you find something on acala.co.id that is not here, that is a mistake on our side and we want to hear about it.
Set by us, no consent needed
- acala_consent — local storage, kept until you clear it. Records whether you chose “Allow analytics” or “Essential only”, so we stop asking. It contains one word and nothing else. Without it we would have to show the notice on every page.
- WordPress session and security cookies — set only if you log in to the site as a member of staff. A visitor who never logs in never receives one.
Loaded only after you allow analytics
- Google Analytics 4 (property G-TZEDXFZ5WD), cookies
_gaand_ga_<id>, kept up to two years. Tells us which pages are read and roughly where readers come from. IP addresses are anonymised in our configuration. - Google Ads (account AW-18398794883), cookie
_gcl_au, kept up to 90 days. Tells us whether an advertisement led to a contact form submission or a WhatsApp click. We record those two events as conversions and nothing else. - Google Tag Manager (container GTM-KCK3P5S8) — the mechanism that loads the two tags above. It sets no cookie of its own.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag (partner 7107852), cookies and local storage in the
li_family, kept up to 180 days by LinkedIn. Lets us measure whether a LinkedIn advertisement reached the right professional audience and build audiences for future announcements.
All four are measurement or advertising tools. None of them is needed for the site to work, and each is switched off until you say otherwise.
How consent works here
The site uses Google Consent Mode v2. Before you answer the notice, four permissions are set to denied: analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization. Google’s tags still load, but in that state they are not permitted to write cookies or send identifiers.
Choosing “Allow analytics” flips those four to granted and, from that moment, allows the LinkedIn tag to load as well. Choosing “Essential only” leaves them denied. Your answer is stored in acala_consent in your own browser; it never reaches our server, so we cannot tell from our records which visitor answered what.
One honest note. The LinkedIn tag can also be fired from inside our Google Tag Manager container, which is configured through Google’s interface rather than in the website code. We have set the website so that it does not load LinkedIn without consent. If you find the LinkedIn tag running before you have answered the notice, that is the container configuration and not the site, we would like to know, and the fastest fix is on our side.
How to verify it yourself
You do not have to trust this page. In your browser, open developer tools, go to the Application or Storage tab, and clear cookies and local storage for acala.co.id. Reload the page and look before answering the notice: you should see acala_consent absent and no _ga, _gcl_au or li_ entries. Answer “Essential only” and reload: still none. Answer “Allow analytics” and reload: they appear. The Network tab shows the same story in requests.
Fonts, maps and server logs
Three things people often assume are cookies, and are not, but which do involve another company or a record on our side.
- Google Fonts. The site loads two typefaces from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. That request reaches Google’s servers and carries your IP address and the page you are on, although it sets no cookie. If you would rather this did not happen, tell us; we can serve the fonts from our own server instead.
- Google Maps. The contact and office pages embed a map. Loading it contacts Google and is governed by Google’s own terms. The rest of the site embeds no maps.
- Server logs. Our hosting records IP address, time, page requested, browser and referrer for every request, as any web server does. Logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting and are not linked to analytics.
We also load one JavaScript library, anime.js, from the public cdnjs mirror. It powers small animations, sets no cookie, and the site remains fully readable if the request fails.
Changing your mind
Clear the site data for acala.co.id in your browser and the notice appears again on your next visit, with everything switched back to denied. You can also block cookies for this site entirely in your browser settings; nothing on the site will stop working. To opt out of Google Analytics everywhere, Google publishes a browser add-on; to control LinkedIn advertising, use the advertising preferences in your LinkedIn account.
Legal basis
Under Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection, the consent you give in the notice is the basis for analytics and advertising storage. Our own strictly necessary storage, meaning the record of your answer and the login cookies for staff, rests on legitimate interest in operating the site. Where a visitor is in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we apply the same standard rather than a lower one: nothing measures you until you say yes.
What would change this page
Adding any new tag, pixel, embedded player, chat widget or A/B testing tool changes what this page must say, and we update it in the same change as the tag. In September 2026 we removed a page-analytics tool that had been loading on every page and is no longer used; this policy reflects the site as it stands after that removal. If a tool ever returns, it will be listed above before it is switched on.
