Solutions · GEOVIA workflows for exploration, planning and operation

Seven mining solutions on one platform: from the first drill hole to the shift report.

ACALA’s solutions group GEOVIA software and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform around the questions a mine actually asks. In exploration: what is in the ground? In planning: what is it worth and how do we mine it? In operation: is the mine doing what the plan said? Each solution combines the right products, roles and ACALA services, licensed, implemented and supported in Indonesia.

The cycle

Three questions a mine keeps asking, and the solutions that answer them.

1Exploration

What is in the ground?

Data from the field becomes a geological model and a resource with a stated confidence.

Solutions

  • Geology Model: drillholes, structure and mineralisation interpreted in 3D.
  • Resource Model: block models, estimation and classification.

Behind them

  • GEOVIA Surpac; Geology Modeler and Geoscience Referential Manager on 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • ACALA Exploration Activities and Resource Estimate services.
2Planning

What is it worth, and how do we mine it?

Data governed, strategy optimised, design engineered, schedule sequenced.

Solutions

  • Geodata Discovery: one governed source of geoscience data.
  • Strategic Mine Planning, Mine Design and Tactical Mine Planning.

Behind them

  • Whittle, Surpac and MineSched; Pit Optimizer, Strategic Mine Planner and Mine Designer roles.
  • ACALA design, planning, economics and study services.
3Operation

Is the mine doing what the plan said?

Production, model and forecast reconciled daily, not quarterly.

Solution

  • Mine Operational Management: production, block model and budget data in one environment.

Behind it

  • 3DEXPERIENCE dashboards and collaboration; MineSched actuals against plan.
  • ACALA Planning and Optimization services: grade control and reconciliation.

Questions we get

Solutions FAQ

What is the difference between a product and a solution here?
A product is one piece of software, such as Surpac. A solution is a workflow: the products, platform roles and ACALA services combined to answer one question, such as strategic mine planning.
Do we need the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for these solutions?
No. Every solution runs on the desktop products. The platform adds shared data, roles and collaboration when several disciplines or sites work on the same model.
Where do most operations start?
With the geology and resource model in Surpac. Planning solutions follow once a resource exists, and operational management once the mine is producing.
Can ACALA implement the solution on our data?
Yes. Implementation, configuration of roles, training on your own data and ongoing support are part of how ACALA delivers each solution in Indonesia.
How do we start?
Tell us the phase your project is in and the question you need answered. We propose the solution, the products and the services behind it.

Next step

Tell us the question your mine is asking. We will show you the solution that answers it.

A working session on your own data, then a proposal covering software, implementation, training and support.
